Lisa Marshall, Pastor
Pastor Lisa Marshall is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. She was educated in HBCU-Livingstone College, UNC-Chapel Hill, Pfeiffer University, and received her Master of Divinity from The ITC (Interdenominational Theological Center) in Atlanta, Georgia. Pastor Lisa is an Awarded Preacher and received the Isaac R. Clark Preaching Award which is one of the most sought-after awards in any Seminary Journey. She currently services on the Board of Ordained Ministry for the conference. She grew up in church with parents and grandparents; and is the 3rd generation “Preacher” in her family. She has been the leading pastor for 15 years. She is one of eight children and each of them are Spiritual Leaders in some way which she is proud of. Pastor Lisa loves “Preaching”, music, reading, small dogs, time alone to walk and talk with Jesus, travel, most people and loves all people. She also LOVES the Carolina Panthers and Golden State Warriors.” She has a wonderful gift of humor and enjoys a fun time. Before coming to the Preaching Arena, she was a Forensic Investigator in the one of the largest city/county in North Carolina known as the State of Mecklenburg in Charlotte, Marketing, and in Psychiatry. For the past 40 years, my greatest joy in music has been helping church musicians make a joyful noise. From playing piano since age 5, to teaching choral music in public schools for 30 years, music has surrounded my life. My other great joy is my family. My children Adam, Lindsay and my dear husband of 28 years, Randy, have always participated in and supported me in all my musical endeavors. I give all the glory to God. I love my Hickory Grove UMC family and my prayer is for you too, "to make a joyful noise"!
